Rebecca Zhong

Rebecca Zhong

Rebecca Zhong is a Chinese New Zealander writer and editor based in Naarm. She started writing at her parent's fish'n'chip shop in the mid-2000s, where she would sit on stacks of empty cardboard McCain boxes and draft stories on recycled order dockets. Her writing set-up has since upgraded to an overpriced standing desk, which she often leaves unattended in favour of her stained couch instead. Rebecca's work has appeared in Headlands, The New Zealand Listener, and Re:News, among others. She is studying towards a Master of Creative Writing, Publishing and Editing at the University of Melbourne and is a 2025 recipient of the Open Book Internship. Rebecca's work is informed by her love of food, home and girlhood.
