Thirangie Jayatilake
Thirangie is a Sri Lankan origin writer and editor based in Naarm. She writes poetry, fiction and feature articles. Her fiction typically includes young female protagonists grappling with the themes of gender, race, ethnicity, identity and growing up. Written in a narrative prose poetry style, her poetry addresses social politics, nostalgia, place and memory. She has been published in Airport Road, Jacaranda, Farrago Magazine, Myraid Magazine, Postscript, Gazelle, and Xenozine. She has read her work at the National Young Writers Festival and the Emerging Writers Festival. Thirangie was also a finalist for the Tempo flash fiction competition. She occasionally curates events for Editors Victoria and has moderated literary panels with Maxine Beneba Clarke, Renee Otmar, Shehan Karunatilaka, Balli Kaur Jaswal, Sussanah Bowen and more.
